Our turning equipment is a crucial component of any on-site machining project, providing the ability to machine cylindrical surfaces with high accuracy and precision.  When we need to build the Journal back to OEM size we use the following three procedures: Weld build up, Split sleeve and installing a sleeve. Once the Journal is built up, we install our portable lathes to the end of the shaft, adjusting center and machine to the required diameter.

When we get a call for a journal repair, the customer’s production line or piece of heavy equipment is down. With quick correspondence and some dimensions, we can determine the correct mounting adapter and begin loading out for the job. Once on site we will begin the repair process by pre-machining the damaged area, then build up or sleeve as required. Once the material has been built back up, we will machine it back to the required diameter using one of our portable lathes. If a Keyway is required, we also have the equipment and knowledge to machine it.
